The Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Jb. 38:1, 8-11
Ps. 107:23-26, 28-31
2 Cor. 5:14-17
Mk. 4:35-41

  • Imagine yourself in the boat with Jesus and his disciples. What do you see?
    What do you hear?
    How do you feel?

  • Think about some occasion when you were in serious danger. How did you act?

  • How might today's readings contribute to you appreciation of the new creation brought about through Jesus?

STEWARDSHIP

"Neither in my youth, nor now that I am old, have I seen a just man forsaken... begging bread"
Psalm 37:25

"Give liberally and be ungrudging when you do so, for on this account the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in all that you undertake."
Deuteronomy 15:10

"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also".
Luke 12:34

"All tithes from the land, whether the seed from the ground or the fruit from the tree, are the LORD'S; they are holy to the LORD."
Leviticus 27:30

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

  • The best thing a parent can give their children is presence.

  • Quit gripping about your church. If it was perfect you couldn't belong.

  • Opportunity may knock once, but temptation leans on the bell.

WE COULD LEARN A LOT FROM CRAYONS:
some are sharp,
some are pretty,
some are dull,
some have weird names,
and all are different colors...
but they all have to learn to live in the same box.
