Today's Saint: St. Rose of Lima reminds me of how I complain about the extra mile I am triing to forfill, when at the same time I forget about those who HAVE TO walk many extra miles just to survive. My sufferings are minor. (Great mainly in my head)

Please Jesus, let me absorb, without complaining, if only a faction of the sufferings of others, so that I could be more gracious of your suffering that you have absorbed for me. Thank you, my King and Savior.

Twenty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time

Wisdom 9:14-18
Philomen 9-10, 12-17
Luke 14: 14-33

If you find yourself stuck in traffic; Don't despair.
There are people in this world for whom driving is an unheard of privilege.

HAVE YOU SAID YOUR ROSARY TODAY?

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. We ask this in the name of Jesus our Lord and Savior.
Amen.

Fourteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Scripture Readings
for July 8, 2007

  • Is 66:10-14

  • Psalm 66:1-7,16

  • Gal 6:14-18

  • Lk 10:1-12, 17-20

Morning Prayer
Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel;
He has come to his people and set them free.

He has raised up for us a mighty savior,
born of hte house of his servant David.

Through his holy prophets he promised of old
that he would save us from our enemies,
from the hands of all who hate us.

He promised to show mercy to our fathers
and to remember his holy covenant.

THis was the oath he swore to our father Abraham:
to set us free from the hands of our enemies,
free to worship him without fear,
holy and righteous in his sight
all the days of our life.

In the tender compassion of our God
the dawn from on high shall break upon us,
to shine on those who dwell in darkness and the
shadow of death, and to guide our feet into the way of peace.

A MONTH FOR MOTHERS

In this month when we remember mothers, please shower blessings on all those caregivers - grandparents, teachers, foster parents and mentors whose gentle presence makes a difference in our children's lives. Bless, too, those single parents, mothers and fathers alike, who work so hard to be present at all times. Bless parents who can't be with their children. Bless us all, and help us to raise children with their eyes on YOU.

The month of May is dedicated to Mary, Mother of God. Let us pray with Mary to her Son, now and always.
